Rise and shine! Today is the third also the last day in San Diego. Haiz.. time pass so fast when you are having fun.
The first place we went today is the USS Midway Museum.It is a 14 year ship that stretched from the end of World War II to the liberation of Kuwait in 1991. On odyssey shared by 225 000 sailors.. No other aircraft carrier served America as long as the USS Midway. Its track record of humanitarian missions, establishment of new naval aviation standards, and dedication to the American ideals of liberty, freedom and peace was unmatched. And so, they called it "Midway Magic". On board the ship, you have the opportunity to walk a 4-acre flight deck and explore from the engine room to admiral's war room. And not forgetting.. alot of fighter planes. Awesome!
Next, we went to San Diego bay (actually just beside USS Midway..haha) to see the few Historic ships.HMS Surprise - A magnificent replica of a late 18th century Royal Navy frigate. She was used in the production of the critically acclaimed film "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World".
Star of India - Launched in 1863, the oldest ship in the world that still maintains a regular sailing schedule.
After SEEING the ships, we start our driving to our next destination - Anaheim. This time round, we have changed the driver. And that's my hubby! haha.. On our way to our hotel at Anaheim, we stop by at the 2nd outlet mall - The Ontario Mills. Hm.. not a very small outlet.. but there's Hollister and Abercombie inside! Wahaha.. finally.. some brands that hubby likes. Initially we had planned to buy clothes during the trip so that we dun have to bring so many clothings so..we got ourselves few stuffs in the mall.. consider quite satisfy la. Finally enough clothings for the rest of the trip.
After finish shopping.. it's already very late.. so we drove to put hotel and check in. The hotel we are living is Americas Best Value Astoria Inn. Haha.. Inn again.. think in US, the call it Inn more then Hotel. Hotel really refers to those high building rooms.. and very expensive type!. Haha. Anyway, the rooms is quite nice and spacious but the toilets are small la.. however, there's still a bath tub. And there's TV, working fridge and oh.. there's a microwave!Orgh... so tire.. Time to rest.. Goodnight..
Day 4 (1 st October 2008)
Yeah.. we are at the Universal Studios Hollywood!!Haha.. we are in movies! Face the action head-on in heart-pounding rides, shows and attractions that puts us inside the world's biggest movies and TV shows.
As it's the Halloween season, There's many people in disguised that goes around grabbing you. And this Mr Vampire is one of them. Guess what? He greets me in Chinese! He says "你好吗？I want to suck your blood tonight..arghhh" !!! EEeekkks!! I was so scared! But it was fun.. haha..At first I saw him, I wanted to take a photo with him.. but he looks so scary.. then he saw me.. and he walk over to me and stretch out his hand to hold me. I felt his warm hands.. and this makes me dare to go near him and took this photo. Haha.. lousy me..We also get to go behind the scenes. We saw how Hollywood magic really happens. Haha.. when we saw how they film those exciting shots.. it's so funny.. not as dangerous as we thought when watching the movies. Most importantly, we saw the high-octane car chases and raging explosions from The Fast and the Furious! I simply can't find another word to describe my feelings..fantastic!
There's 2 parts in the Universal Studio. Today we only covered the studio tours. We'll be back again on the 8th day to explore the theme parks here. Do continue reading ok...
