My Pregnancy Experience..

On 21st June 2006, Sau Kien and Huiying went to ROM and took their vow.

On 27 May 2007, we hold our Chinese customary wedding and after spending 6 months of honeymoon period, we decide to have our own baby.

On 28 March 2008, we came to US..no good news yet.

On 24 December 2008, we found out that I'm pregnant! And the EDD is 26 August 2009.

The first trimester....
Omg..since the day I found out that I'm pregnant, I had not been feeling well. Feel so nausea, giddy and breathless. I dun feel like eating anything. Even if I eat, I will throw up in 30 minutes time. If I dun throw up, I will feel very very giddy. I only survive on Milo and Ritz biscuit tat period. Simply can't intake anything else.

Hubby took over the chef role for this 3 months. He learned to cook bee hoon soup, porridge and also the dishes I used to cook. Well, luckily a quick learner.. haha.. never gave me a chance to eat over cooked food or over salty food. Hmm..maybe is teacher (me) good la.. haha!

And due to the weather (winter), the air is very thin. I always get breathless..almost went to buy a oxygen tank. Haha.. exaggerate right.. but is true.. sometimes I almost can't breath. I had been lying on bed sleeping and sleeping for the whole month. No cooking.. no playing of games.. no watching of tv.. just sleep, eat and throw up. What a terrible month.. but luckily, it doesn't last long.. just about 4 - 5 weeks.

The second trimester....

Soon.. I was in the second trimester. Tummy had shown up le.. keke. Though I was feeling better and no more vomiting.. but my appetite was not that good yet. Taking many small meals everyday. During the second trimester, we had a holiday trip to LA and LV. Well, the weather was still cold and I wore few layers of clothings. Perhaps because I'm pregnant.. tat's why I'm weaker and feel more cold. Once I feel hungry, I feel like to vomit. So I bought biscuits, sweets and raisin with me no matter where I go. My body gets stronger day by day and I'm back to the normal life.. cooking..watching shows.. playing games and shopping. We started shopping around surveying what type of cribs and stroller to buy. And started buying baby's clothings when we knew it's a BOY! keke

The third trimester...

Now it's the last trimester..tummy had got even bigger. Everything's ready. Baby's crib, stroller, car seat, milk bottles, clothings, etc. And my parents will be reaching in 5 days time. And all we got to do now and wait for the arrival of our little Prince Liew. My appetite now was still good. But baby is growing up and somtimes just felt the pressure on my tummy and can't stand.. Sometimes got to "carry" the tummy to walk. Haha.. funny le. Baby had been kicking vigorously everyday and I had been enjoying this feeling. So do daddy Liew.. haha.. somtimes he put his face on my tummy and let baby kick him. Haha..

Although hubby was very tire after work but he still help out to cook and most important, he cook those tonics for me. Keke.. bird nest and pao shen. Whenever he cooks the tonics, I wanna laugh. He's so busy.. running in and out of the bedroom and kitchen. Just to check if the tonics was over steaming.. whether the water runs dry.. haha.. I told him put more water and steam at low heat can liao.. dun need run here and there.. but he still keeps running. Haha.. anxious papa..

At first before getting pregnant, I had worries.. If I will be able to take care of baby myself? But now I feel more secure. Throughout the pregnancy period, hubby really make me feel secure and I believe he will love our baby alot and he will always be there for me and baby.

Happy Independence Day!!

Woah.. a year had passed so quickly! Where was I last year? Haha.. we are with a big group of new friends in Vegas! And that was the 1st time I went to Vegas.

This year we had a long weekend.. off from work from Friday to Monday. But we did not go to Vegas as we just went on Memorial day. But we had a very busy, tiring and fun time in AZ.

On Friday, we went shopping at Scottsdale. But on our way there, Jason's car broke down! OMG.. the weather out there is so freaking hot.. I wan to melt liao! Really hated summer. Haha..
Haiz.. summer is spoiling all car.. Memorial day go tour..Ah chua's car air-con spoil.. Independence day is Jason's turn. Oh my..so scare to go out nowadays. We are so suay.. haha
Finally we manage to slowly drive the car to a nearby car repair shop. And we called Ah Chua to come down and "save" us. Because we got no car.. we are stuck. Haha.. luckily he had not yet went out or else haiz.. duno who can save us liao. Almost everyone is in Vegas! haha..
When ah chua reached, we went to Scottdales shop awhile and went to Olive Garden for dinner. Really enjoyed the food and services there. Hm.. due to our hungry tummy, we did not managed to make it in time for the fireworks display at Anthem. But we still went over there after dinner to grab some good deals. Guess what? My boys' shorts are only selling at US$0.99 each! which I previously paid $4.99 when it's on sale.

After the late night shopping till past midnight, we went home and get ready for tomolo's event. Haha.. all of us fell asleep (except ah chua the driver) on the way home and were unable to get to sleep when we are home. So hubby and Jason decide to go eat breakfast and went to pick up the rented car at airport. Haiz.. super hero.. never sleep whole day and whole night.

We set off at 6am from my place and off we drove to Desert Hill. Haiz.. it's such a disappointment. No good deals there..in fact so many China tourist. See them grab and snatch at the Coach, Gucci and Burberry store.. just like pasar malam on super duper sale. Make me no mood to shop at all. haiz.. only bought a few clothings for baby at OshKosh. THAT'S ALL!!
Next, we went to Ontario Mills..haiz..even worst.. went there for the sake of Abercombie and Hollister.. but no nice clothings.. such a waste of time travelling. Lastly, in order to pamper ourselves for not buying much stuffs..we decide to have a good meal before going home. We went to Hooters! haha.. munching naked chicken wings with onion rings..shiok..

For the third day (Sunday), we were so tire from the driving around yesterday..but still got to wake up.. why? No water liao!! die die must go base and take water and get some grocery. After the replenish of food and water, we went to World Buffet for dinner. Keke.. sushi again.. keke. Oh well.. what to do after dinner? Still early.. haiz.. they guys decide to go Casino.. so i go home and play my barn buddy lo.. but it's ok la.. my body is so exhausted liao.. haha.

It's the last day of holiday.. some of the guys are back from Vegas too.. so we met up around 10+ and went for dim sum. Hm..maybe it's weekday.. not much variety to eat. :(
After brunch, we went to pick up Jason's car from the "hospital" Haha.. fully recovered now.. but think Jason's heart is bleeding liao.. haiz... After getting the car.. we went to Ranch.. get some stuff..and went home. But after reaching home, Jason say wan go shopping at Chandler! Koaz.. just came back from Scottsdale..den go back that area again..but we still go la.. haha.. Well.. not a wasted trip..got myself a dress from Abercombie. Keke

Lastly, we went to Lan Tian for dinner. We ordered a whole roasted duck! Oh my.. so cheap.. $15 only! And it's so tasty!

What a tiring long weekend... though we did not go anywhere for holiday but I did enjoyed myself on this 4 days.. with the guys.. Patrick call us "the usual suspect" haha..me, hubby, Jason, Ah chua, Robin, etc.. Haha... Happy Holidays!!

Happy 3rd Anniversary!!

Wow.. time passes so fast.. and it had been 3 years since we took our vow. The 1st year we are busy getting ready for our chinese wedding. The second year we are at US trying to settle down and now the 3rd year, we are busy preparing for the arrival of our little prince.

Early in the morning we woke up and went to MacDonald's for breakfast. Look at the burger..so cute..with Mac's logo toasted on it. After breakfast, we went to temple and pray. I hope god can protect me and baby and I hope that my delivery will be smooth. After praying, we went shopping. Haha.. never buy gifts for each other for anniversary but bought alot baby stuffs. Keke.. Well, cannot say no anniversary present la.. cos the stuff I wanted hubby to get me is not appropriate to buy now.. waiting for sale then buy.. wahaha.

At 1st we had planned to have baked lobster tail for dinner but sadly..we were unable to get any from the supermarket. So we decide to go Red Lobster Restaurant. But at this time, Lynn called me and ask us over for dinner. She had cooked alot as she's having a guest but her friend was unable to make it last minute. Well.. since can't find lobster tail and pai seh to reject, we decide to dine with them. We had a happy dinner with Lynn and her family and Joe and Jason. Haha.. again.. my anniversary is spent with a group of friends like last year. Well, I dun mind..cos most important is that we had fun and we are happy. :) I guess it's not really necessary to have 2 person time on the anniversary..keke..anyway everyday also have 2 person time at home.

Hubby, I'm glad that you are always there for me whenever I need you.

Goodbye my Beloved 2nd Uncle...

4pm I received the call from my sister. My 2nd uncle had departed from the world. I burst into tears. Though all along we knew his health is not good..but I still find the news very sudden.
Still remember when I was small, he used to hug and carry me. Even till I'm so big..he still hugs me when he sees me. Simply dote on me that much. The last time he hug me was on my wedding day. After that, his health went down..bed-ridden..
Visited him once in hospital before coming to US. but ever since I'm in US, heard them say uncle health getting better. Staying at home to rest. Who knows..suddenly they told me he got cancer. Never heard him in ICU for anything and the news just came. I just regret coming to US. I dun have to chance to see him for 1 last time and now I can't send him off. I'm so unfilial ..so sad.
I knew clearly that this is a relief for him. At least he dun have to go thru all the torture anymore, but I just can't stop missing him. (-_-)

Time just doesn't wait for us..

Time for TDY again

Well.. it's time for the 4th detachment and this time round, I can postphone the blog for "Life Alone In Desert Part 4" for awhile. Why? Because I'm in my 3rd trimester now and hubby was worried to leave me at home alone and thus requested to stay back in AZ. I was happy.. at least there's someone here for me if there's anything happen in the night. At 1st hubby wasn't able granted to stay.. because of somebody else is staying and that person is so useless to the team that he is not needed in the detachment. :P But luckily..things turn out good and hubby manage to stay on with me. And luckily, hubby did not go to TDY! Because my modem went dead on Friday night! If hubby was away this time, how am I going to webcam with him?? Haiz.. finally we manage to buy a new modem and now I'm back with the internet after 4 days..

Some of the hubby went early for the detachment and most of them went on Saturday (30th May 09). On Friday, the princess gather at HQ and made rice dumplings. I was down with flu.. though at the recovering stage but still I was scare that I will pass the virus to them, so I stayed at home. I was so touched that Christine and Arlene delivered the dumplings to me after they had done it. It's so nice.. really miss the taste.

On Sunday (31st May 09), we had a BBQ session. Haha.. always got BBQ when hubby went for detachment. But this time round, there's more wives. Let me introduce. Behind me is Arlene, beside her is Jerlyn follow by Chrsitine, Sheena, Lynn and Kate. And the photographer is my Hubby lor.. haha.. We really had too much food and we ate till so full. BBQ chicken, sting rays, sotong, prawns, hotdogs, salad, rock melon and most important, BEER! omg.. can see they really enjoy drinking the beers.. but no chance of mine. Haiz..

Soon weekend was over and it's Monday! We meet up at Lynn's house and I get to enjoy black rice porridge cooked by Arlene and specially cooked for me. Why? Haha.. because I got craving and went to buy a big packet of it. But only realise that It's not a easy thing to cook. After consulting Arlene, I decided that she cook and I eat instead of cooking myself. Haha.. that's the privilege of a pregnant women. After getting ourselves full, we did some hand crafts. Own designed shoes. Yes.. this is the shoes I used to wear when I was in Secondary school. It was so plain but after the adding of the ribbons, ta da.. isn't it sweet?? So nice that I wun bear to wear although I promised Arlene that I will wear them.

Trip to Vegas on Memorial Day

This is the 2nd time I spent the Memorial Day in US. Last year, hubby was away on his first detachment and I was alone in the desert and we Missed out alot of SALES!!

This year, we made a trip to Las Vegas for shopping!! This is the 4th time I went to Las Vegas but it's the 3rd time I took the photo at Hoover Dam. Why take so many? Haha.. cos different season. The 1st time was summer, 2nd time was winter and now is with big stomach mah! haha..

This time round we went with Jason and Ah Chua and we stayed at Arizona Charlie Decatur Hotel. Well, everything's good with the hotel except..the water pressure for bath is really really too small.. took me quite awhile to bath.. haha. On the previous 3 trips, we were busy exploring all the hotels and taking photos. For this trip, not much photo was taken because the main motive is to go eat and shopping! Haha.. well.. spent quite alot on Coach stuffs.. but sad to say.. they are not mine. The sales was good and we bought alot for our sisters. Although I din get myslef any Coach bag, I still done alot of shopping for other stuffs.. clothes.. shoes.. bag.. wallets and more.. Keke.. so happy! Really enjoyed myself alot on this trip!

Happy Birthday to ME!!

It's my birthday again. Haiz..another year older. BUT, this is a very special year for me. Because, there's baby Liew in my tummy. Last year on my birthday, I made a wish to have a child of our own soon. And this year my wish had been fulfilled. Thank god.

I'm very happy today because, finally I received flowers from Hubby after staying in the desert for 1 year. Haha.. maybe I'm too spoilt ba.. Hubby used to give me flowers on every occasion when we are in Singapore. But ever since we came to the desert, hubby dun buy me flowers le.. he say the flowers here not nice and not fresh. True la.. cos he used to choose the flowers from nursery before giving to me. Keke..

We woke up in the morning and went to Denny's for brunch..Keke.. got birthday special.. free Grand Slam Sandwich for me. Nice.. After brunch, we went to collect the Desire Cheesecake from Cold Stone and went home to sing birthday song.

After the celebration, hubby went to work. Hm.. the same as last year. Hubby working night shift. Around 4+, I received a call from Christine. She asked me to go down to HQ..she said Kate had made us Thai Tea. Haha.. I was faked by her! She talk to me in a very sleepy tone and I thought..hm..nobody noes is my birthday..keke..

Den I went down to HQ, everything looks normal.. and suddenly I saw Juliet..haha.. I became suspicious. Juliet rarely joins us.. something must be wrong. And true enough, while we were chatting at the dining table, Christine and Sheena walk out from the bedroom and carrying a Pandan cake and sang me a birthday song. Seriously, I'm so touch. Never thought they will give me such a surprise. And the most important thing is that they knew I'm allergy to the cakes here so Christine purposely bake me the Pandan Cake so I can eat. So touched. Muacks to Christine.

Look at the pressie I received. Haha.. they gave me an Ang Bao (so old still got Ang Bao..haha)and they bought me a Genie Diapers Disposal System. Dun see little of this thing. Got alot usage wan. Really will be useful for me.. haha.. My hubby say.. wa! they really hor.. so expensive diapers bin also buy.. OMG.. wahaha.. I wanted to buy it.. but looking at the price.. I doubt we will buy.

Next, I got a Porter limited edition bag from Arlene. Thanks gal. I like it alot. Definitely useful after Baby Liew is born.

And lastly, I got complimentary Banana Split from Denny's and Cheesecake Ice Cream from Cold Stone. Shiok.. haha.. so many dessert for me this Birthday. Really enjoyed alot.

The Busy Weekend Of Moving To New Apartment

Wow.. I had a very busy weekend this week.

Starting from Friday. As hubby do not need to go work, so we started to shift some of the stuff to our new apartment. Then at night we went to the base for the Hi-Bye piss up. After the dinner, we had the KTV session. Haha.. never thought that we got Chinese songs KTV in US huh! Haha.. after the KTV session, Christine, Sheena, and me, together with our husband, went to Buffalo Wild Wings for supper. Haha.. why are we hungry? Because the piss up dinner was held outdoor. There's cold wind blowing and the food were so cold that we hardly ate any stuff. Haiz.. but thanks to the cold dinner so that we got chance to go for supper. Haha...

Saturday - Hubby woke up at 6.30am and accompany Robin to bring Ghee Heng to the MVD to make car license. Hm.. although I was not sleeping (because I can't fall asleep) but I still decide not to go with them. It's better I try to catch some sleep later. Haha.. breakfast is not tempting enough to get me out of the house. :P After they settle Ghee Heng for his car license, lunch and housing, they came home and start the big shifting of stuffs to our new apartment. By the time they start shifting, I was so tire that I fell asleep in the bedroom while they shift the stuff. Keke.. lazy me..anyway I cannot carry also..might as well sleep! And it was kind of Ah Moey to come over and help them move. Haha.. poor him, help an Encik to shift in the morning and still came over to help us. Thanks ya!
By evening time, it was about 70% done. There's more for me to shift tomolo. Haha. We took a break and meet up with the rest of the guys at Golden Corral for dinner buffet. Waa.. why not a simple dinner again? Well, it's because it's Situ's birthday. We held a celebration for him during the dinner. Getting all the staff to sing a birthday song for him. embarrass le.. haha. After the dinner, we went to Robin's place to play Rock Band! Haha boring ah..

Sunday – I woke up at 9.30am and laze on bed.. thinking.. it's a long day.. we got to finish shifting all the stuffs. At 10am I make my hubby wake up. And he asked.. what do you wan to eat for breakfast? Den I say.. baby wan to eat Hotcake Happy Meal! Haha.. only left 25 mins for us to get change and rush to MacDonald's. Actually we can get there in time to eat BUT there was a cycling program going on. The area around MacDonald's was seal off by the police. I was so disappointed. In the end, we went to the MacDonald's outside base. Since we are there, we went to the base and buy the grocery for next week. After that we went home and started shifting till 3pm and we meet up with Jason they all for lunch at Yoshinoya. After lunch, we went back to unpack some stuff and get changed and meet up the rest at Maharaja Palace for dinner. Wow.. I miss their Masadi Mutton so so much! Yummy!
After dinner, we went to West Gate Yard House for a drink. Why? Haha..this time round, is to celebrate Jason's birthday. His birthday is actually tomolo la. But because Tuesday need to work..so we decide to go drink tonight instead. As I cannot drink alcohol, I order a Kona Coffee Ice Cream. Wow.. it's a big serving! I can hardly finish. As for Jason, I ordered a Macadamia Cheese Cake for us to sing the Birthday song for him. Seriously, both desert taste so great! I recommend you people go and try! No regrets!

Monday – I woke up at 7am and start to disconnect my computer, pack up the few little things left in our old apartment. After packing up all the stuff, we then do the last shift to the new apartment. And we went to APS, Credit Union and MVD to make the change of address informing and next, we went to do my checkup. After check up, we went to Scottsdale for some shopping. Haha..busy moving house still can go shopping le.. After shopping, we went to Robin's place for dinner and lastly back to our new home.

After 1 year and 2 days, we shift to a new, bigger and nicer home. It's our 1st night in the new apartment. I wonder if it was because I was too tire or the new bed was too comfy.. I had a very good night sleep till the very next day 11am. Shiok..

See.. I really got a very busy long weekend ah.. so tiring.. and finally it's all over. Now I can rest and relax in our new home. :)

The 2nd Trimester Ultra Scan

Today we went to Phoenix Perinatal Associates for the 2nd ultra scan. This time round, it was a male nurse to do the scanning for me. He's good and gentle. And the first thing he helped use to scan is the gender of the baby. And... the baby is Prince Liew! Haha.. It's a BOY! The moment I heard the nurse say boy.. I almost dropped tears. Hm..duno why. Although all of our family members wanted a girl but I feel that as a daughter-in-law.. A boy will be better. Haha. Well.. got to try again for a gal. Haha..
During the scan, we get to see many pose of baby. So cute. Most importantly is that the doctor say everything is normal and looking good. This make us feel better. I was so worried. Thank god that everything is fine for baby boy. :)

Trip to Los Angeles and Las Vegas

Well, this is my second visit to Los Angeles. Also the 2nd visit to Disneyland. Wondering why do I go the second time? Hehe.. tat's because I got friend visit! Jermaine flew from Singapore to the desert. Of cos we have to bring her around. Haha.. I enjoyed more on my 2nd visit to the Disneyland. WHY? Because the first time I went, it was e Halloween season. The decoration and costume of the characters are not Disney feel at all. Further more, we din get to see the fireworks last time. Such a disappointment.

The weather is cold and we have to carry our jackets on hand. Why cold and dun wear? Haha.. because although it was cold, it was very sunny too. We hold the jackets for preparation of the night.

After spending the whole day in Disneyland.. finally it's night time! It's fireworks time. Well, people who had seen it told me it was really fantastic and the best fireworks they had ever seen. To me, hm..sad to say, it's not tat great. Just normal and what should be expected from Disneyland. I guess the best part is when you saw Tinkerbell fly in the sky. That's all. Nothing really special. Haiz. After the fireworks, we proceed to the riverside. The previous time I went, there was a parade on the main street. This time, they move the parade to the river. It was nice..but really really very cold..

On the 2nd day, we went the the Walk Of Fame. Keke.. Alot of Hollywood stars were dressed up and standing on the street. Waiting for you to take photos with them. And finally, we made it to take photo at the Hollywood sign. It's a long way up the mountain. I almost vomit sia.. force myself to sleep in order to stop the giddy. At night we went to the Santa Monica Beach and went to a Chinese Restaurant for dinner. Indeed, as what Patrick had told me, the scallops size is bigger then the 50 cents coin. Wahaha.. we had a big feast with the big scallops and plenty of prawns!

Day 3 ~~ It's time to go Vegas! Haha.. Of cos not to forgot shopping at Ontario Mall before going to Vegas. Haiz..wat's new? Bought some clothings from Abercombie and Hollister lor.. standard..wahaha.. but hor..kinda cheap also. Haha. Next we went to Penang Malaysian Cuisine for our dinner. Yummy! I had my favourite Nasi Lemak, Curry Mee and Lor Bak! So happy!

Well.. it's still e same for Vegas, nothing much to introduce. The only hotel I had not been to before the previous time is the Luxor Hotel. Got to go few more times before I can finish exploring all the hotels. Wahaha!

Hubby's Back From Florida

Finally hubby is back from Florida safe and sound. His flight was delayed and reached home after past midnight tat day. We all know that due to the bad weather in Florida, there's always a delay when they fly back. Hubby was lucky. He was on the advance team and get home early.. although he went few days earlier den the others. However, The rest of the guys were being delayed for 1 more day. All wives was sad..but the happy thing is.. extend 1 day only.

Now, let's see what my hubby and the guys do at Florida, Panama City over the weekend.

The 1st weekend, they went to the Hooters and had Chicken wings feast! Well, of cos not to forgot "Eyes" feast la.. Hooters le.. so many pretty gals with big boobs! Haha.. I questioned my hubby and he said: "I go there eat not see!" Haha.. Should I believe? keke. Outside the Hooters is a beautiful beach. Haha.. the weather is still cold..nobody swim. Or else they can see more pretty ladies already.. perhaps naked wan le! Too bad ah guys... wahaha

Well..living near the beach of course not to forget fresh seafood! They indulge themselves with fresh oysters, baked oysters and snow crab legs..almost everyday! Haiz..lucky I dun fancy oysters.. or else I will be very jealous! Wahaha.

After 3 weeks of hard work.. it's time to relax. On the last night, all the guys went to the pub. Guess they enjoyed alot ya! See how happily everyone is smiling. Haha.. Work hard but play harder! But it's so funny to see them holding can beers instead of bottles beer. And they say.. the place serve the drinks in plastic cups. Even for the Tequila shots! Wahaha.. so funny.. Feel like kids drinking sodas..

Life Alone In The Desert (Part 3)

It's time to be home alone again. Hubby is going to Florida for 19 days. This time round will be abit different. Because there's a life in my tummy. I cannot skip meals or eat junk food as a meal. Hubby is so worried about my meals and bought me alot of biscuits just in case I'm hungry in the night. As I keep having difficulty in breathing, I need to switch on the humidifier. But hubby was so afraid that I dun have enough water, he carried home 3 big bottles of water (7 US Gallons each) last night. I feel so bad. Why? Because it was raining heavily last night. Hubby was standing in the rain..trying to fill the 3 bottles and walk to and fro to carpark to carry the water home. He's all drenched after he finish carrying all the water and foods home for me.

Day 1 (10 Feb 09)
Hubby left home early at 2.45am this morning to catch the flight . What a crazy time to leave home to catch a flight..haha. As I waited hubby to leave last night and slept late, I only managed to wake up at 12 noon today. Hehe.. had a long sleep. Received a call from hubby at 2pm. He had finally reached the hotel in Florida. And good for him.. dun need to work today can take a rest.

Well, I'm not bad over here too.. haha.. because I get to eat Dao Suan..cooked by Sheena. Hey..really taste good..miss the taste so much. Thanks ya!

Happy Valentine's Day!! Wa.. Time passed fast ya.. today is already the 5th day. Hubby will be back in 2 weeks time! Yeah! Today is Valentine's Day and my hubby is not around to celebrate with me. Haiz.. When we were in Singapore, I used to receive different kinds of fresh flowers from hubby. There's no fresh flowers this year but haha.. hubby still manage to send me flowers..but thru Facebook. I'm quite shock to receive it.. hehe.. so touched. Why? Because my hubby dun really plays in facebook. He told me he took a long time to explore for the application to send my the Fire and Ice Roses. Haha.. Thanks Hubby.. but you still owe me orange tulips!

Day 7 (16 Feb 09)
Today is US's President's Day. Early in the morning I turn on TV and watch Martha Steward. Her guest today is President Bill Clinton! Wah! Never thought she can even invite such a big guest. Even though Martha is famous.. but inviting a chef and a President to the show is different lo! Haha..
After watching the show, I meet the with Sheena, Dal and Merry. We went to Toys R Us. Wahaha.. they having SALES!! 50% off already reduced price. I bought 3 set of winter clothings and a pair of Pooh Bear shoes for baby! Haha.. guess how much I spent? Less then US$20! Aiyo.. where to find so cheap sales? Thanks to President's Day. Haha..

Day 8 (17 Feb 09)
Today is the 8th day!! Hubby will be back in 11 days time! Yeah! Hm..something happened last night. And I was so sad..feel so affected. I told myself not to cry..but just the thought of it, my tears just dun stop rolling down. I wasn't able to fall asleep till 3am.. and got up around 8am.. Haiz.. I was so tire. But I had to go for a ultra scan today. Bear with the tiredness and went to see doctor. After seeing doctor, we went to Arrowhead Mall, had lunch and shopped for awhile. Came home in the evening time and I was so so so tire. Had a hot bath and lie on the bed. However..still unable to fall asleep. Hope I can sleep well tonight.

Yes, I went shopping again today..haha.. bought my baby 3 books! Haha.. dun laugh at me saying it's too early. I saw them cute and cheap..so I bought them. It's kinda hard to find story books that have pop up characters and it's only US$1!! Where can you find this price in Singapore? Haha.. Furthermore, Mummy Sheena and Mummy Merry says, it's time to read story books for baby.. a good way to communicate with them before birth. Well, dun think I'm Kiasu la.. only 3 books. Haha..I know la.. I will buy more and more wan la. But..I still believe in limiting. Or else baby will learn to be greedy.. always wan this and that.

Day 16 (25 Feb 2008)
Oash! The weather is so hot today! The temperature now is about 27 degree Celsius! Few days ago, it was still cold..but now..haiz.. What a big change in temperature. Woah.. time really passes so fast.. Thursday..Friday..and I can see hubby on Saturday!! Keke.. well.. thinking back.. It's not a bad thing for hubby to go advance this time.. at least he came back earlier den the others.. haha. I was chatting with my friends just now. And I told him.. I'm so happy with my life now. I'm married to such a wonderful hubby, so many nice friends around me.. no matter is my good friends in Singapore or the new friends I made here and most importantly, a baby which is happiest thing that happen to me in the desert. What more can I ask for in my life? Haha..yes.. there's one more thing I ask for.. that is good health for everyone.

Day 19 (28 Feb 2009)
Hohoho.. finally it's the last day of hubby's TDY and it's also the last day of February!! Which means, another 1 year and 1 month, we can go back to Singapore already. Keke.. Time.. please pass faster..
Well.. my hubby should be home by tonight. While waiting for hubby, I try to make "Guan Qiang" Haha.. this is the Teochew name of a snacks. Everytime during Chinese New Year, my granny and mum will make it for us to eat. But this year's Chinese New Year I was not with them..and no chance to eat. I really miss it so much. Had intended to make it during Chinese New Year.. but I was too weak to do the shredding of turnips. So.. haha.. I decide to try today. Well.. I spent half an hour to finished the first procedure of wrapping and steaming.. took 2 hour for them cool and den I deep fried them. They looks so yummy. It's a success.. beautifully fried and hubby can eat once he come back. Suppose he should be hungry ba.
Haiz.. but just now I got a call from hubby. Due to the weather at Florida, their flight was delayed. When they reached Delta Airport for a transit, they had missed the flight. Now.. duno when den have vacancy for them to take the flight back. Is either 6pm or 9pm..if there's none, they will have to wait till tomolo. Haiz.. I knew it! They flight sure got problem wan.. just dun wanna say in advance.. but it still came true. Just hope hubby can get the earliest flight and faster come back.

Baby's 1st Trimester Screening

Today is the 13th weeks and we are to do a ultrascan. This is done to check baby's health. Well, I'm not really detailed about the scan..only noe that it need to be done on the 13th week. But hubby is away at Florida..unable to bring me to the doctor. So, I ask Sheena to send me. Haha.. our first time to drive on 101 with the wives only! No husband around! wahaha.. well, we had a very safe trip to and fro. Thanks gal.

We arrived quite early an waited for along time before it's my turn to do the scan. After I lie down, the nurse says that she's going to put a warm gel on my tummy. And suddenly I felt hot! It's hot gel.. not warm gel! OMG! Hmm..baby isn't very cooperative.. we took about 30 mins to scan. I saw baby smiling and waving to me. So cute. The scan was so painful. Really wonder if she noes how to do it. She keep using the scan to press down my tummy hard and because baby dun change position, the nurse used the scan and hit my tummy! Ouch! It's really pain lo.. so angry with her. And after the scan is done, I request for a print out and she says..oh..there's a CD for you.. there's no print out. When I open the CD, there's only 4 photos! I'm even angrier! When Dal went, she got the print out and she got 8 photos in the CD! Haiz.. think the nurse is not very happy today la. Just my luck. Luckily there's 1 photo that can be seen. Better den nothing.

After the scan is done, I did a blood test. This test requires to prick on the finger and follow by a twist. It was pain and my finger went numb when the nurse tried to press out the blood. Haiz.. now my finger blue black liao. :( sob sob


I will only be able to know the result when I visit my gynae next month. Hope everything will be good!

Second Visit to the Gynaecology

Today is the 2nd time I visit Dr Oland. It's the 11 weeks. Today we did a scan again. Haha.. I can hardly figure out what was printed out. But when the doctor is scanning, I can see the hands and legs of the baby. We also saw the hearbeat. Looks so cute. The baby was kinda active.. keep moving around. And that's why the print out was... haha..

Well, glad to hear from doctor that my blood test result are good, baby's heartbeat is doing great and is actively moving around. Everything is good!

The visit was short. Waited for the doctor, did a scan and asked a few questions and that's it. Luckily we were covered for all medical bills here or else.. I think we gonna be quite broke. Why do I say that? Haha.. Because, the medical bills for me today is USD$402. Imagine.. $400 per visit.. I still have many more to go.. how? haha.. And nothing much was done during the visit. Why do it cost so much? Neither do I know! Anyway.. money is not that important. Most important is my baby must be healthy! Kekeke..

The New Experience - Pregnancy

On 23rd of Dec, I was feeling so sick.. my head is so giddy and my gastric is so pain. I used to take the normal gastric medication whenever I have pain. But when I had sever pain, I would take the other type of heavy dose. However, Before I came to Singapore, my family doctor did told me before that the medicine is not to be taken if you are pregnant. Normally, these words had never came to my mind before I took the medicine. But today, I seems to sense something is not right. So, I get hubby to buy the pregnancy kit for me to test before I take the medicine.

And to our surprise, I'm pregnant! Can you believe it? No preparation was done before hand. Even though we wanted a baby and was trying for one, but we did not count the dates or use any kits. The baby just came so naturally. Well, the result shown was no very clear. One of the line was faded. To make things sure, hubby went to get another test kit when he off work at night. This time, the test is clear. :)

On Christmas eve, we went to the doctor to confirm. I've done a blood test and was introduce to the gyne. Haha.. lastly, not to forget this pregnancy survey I got from Shikin. It's something you cannot forget!

Happy Chinese New Year 新年快乐!

Wishing all my family, relative and friends a Happy Chinese New Year! Wish everyone good luck in this Cow year!

This is the very first time time in my life to spend Chinese New Year without our family with me. Same for my hubby. When we were in Singapore, Chinese New Year is a very busy season for us. All the preparation, making of New Year goodies and of course helping out at hubby's sister's florist. But this year.. hm.. it's so boring. We hardly had any mood to do any preparation nor spring cleaning.

Haha.. this is the photo we took at our home in USA..my.. no mandarin oranges so we used normal orange as a sign. Haha.. better than nothing. Not bad ah.. at least I have Kong Guan egg rolls! haha..

At Singapore's timing of New Year's Eve, I had a web cam session with my family. Seeing them eat reunion dinner. Feel so sad.. can only see them eat but there isn't my share.. sob sob. But at least thru the web cam, I can see that everyone of them looks healthy and I can set my mind at ease. Well.. after seeing my family member's of cos not to forget my in-laws. We also had a web cam session with them.. but hubby and I woke up at 6.30am to chat with them. Haha..

On Chinese New Year's Eve, we met the guys early in the morning 10.30am to have reunion dim sum at Great Wall. After that, we went shopping at Scottsdale and follow by going to the casino to try our luck. Hmm.. average only. Lastly, we had supper at Denny's. No count down..no fire crackers.. no fireworks.. no lion dance. Haiz.. Oh..btw, there wasn't many of us.. Just me, my hubby, Patrick, Joe, Robin and Ah Chua. The rest of the guys went to Flagstaff. We intended to go in the first place..but on second thought, I still think it's not safe for me and so we decide to stay in Arizona to celebrate Chinese New Year.

Yeah! It's the first day of Chinese New Year. We met the guys at 11.30am and we went to the temple to pray. Just like what we used to do in Singapore. Pray for health and hope everything
will go smoothly for everyone. And I also pray that my big uncle will be fine. Hope he can recover fast and wait for me to go back.

After praying, we went to a Thai restaurant for lunch. Nice.. but abit too spicy..haha.. After lunch we went to buy some grocery and lastly we went to Patrick's place and play PSP3. We played the Time Crisis 4. Awesome! And hubby they all formed the Rock band. Wahaha.. Nice huh! We played till almost 3am den we went home. Really enjoyed!

After we came home.. we started to cook the tea eggs. . We slept around 4+ and woke up 10am the next day..so tiring. We are having a gathering at Mr Ting's place and we are to bring some food over. There's so many nice food and we had steamboat also. Haha.. because we are using white eggs instead of brown eggs so the egg color is not as dark as what we have in Singapore Pasar Malam. Keke..

Well.. 2 days of Chinese New Year just past like this.. No Ang Pao :( ..keke.. no lar.. I got 1! From my dear hubby! Haha.. One more boring Chinese New Year in the desert and we can go home! Yeah.. time is passing fast!

First Visit to the Gynaecology

Finally we had the 1st visit to the doctor to see how is our baby doing. We made appointment at Estrella Women's Centre. And the doctor in charge is Dr Jordan Oland. He looks so friendly. Hehe.. thanks to Christine for the good recommendation.


What had we done today? Hm.. urine test..blood pressure.. weight and BLOOD TEST! OMG.. they actually took 5 test tube of my blood! I'm almost out of blood. Haha..


Most importantly, Dr Oland did a ultrasound for baby. The baby is 6 Weeks and 6 Days old. Pretty fast huh.. He show us the baby in my womb. It is so so tiny. The length is onli 0.89cm.


After that, Dr let us listen to baby's heart beat. The moment is so miracle. Another heartbeat is in me. I feel so touch that I almost cry. When we were on our way home, I ask Hubby..what's his feeling when he heard the heart beat. He say "It's so cute. Keke"

For the past 2 weeks I had been feeling very bad.. can't eat, keep vomitting, feel so giddy and extreme cramp at my tummy. I told myself.. I wan to give up. I regret. But after hearing to baby's heart beat today, I feel that all these are worth it. Baby, I'm sorry to have the bad thought. Mummy loves you!

Oh ya.. lastly dun forget.. Dr Oland says.. my due date should be 26 Aug 09. Hehe.. same date as my elder sister's birthday. But it's still early to say the date la.. keke...

2009 Jan 06 - 6 Weeks and 6 Days Old.

Welcome 2009

Goodbye 2008 and Welcome 2009!

This is going to be a very different New Year for me and hubby. There's going to be a big change in our life!

On Christmas eve, we confirmed that I'm pregnant. We were so happy. A really nice present from God. We were happy to receive the present. However, due to my weak body, I had been feeling very giddy and keep vomiting the foods that I ate. Luckily hubby was on leave these few days. There's someone there to cook and take care of me. I really appreciates and I felt bad.. The chores are used to be done by me.. but now hubby got to do everything. THANKS hubby. :) Haha.. now you know.. being a husband is really not that easy hor. Keke..

Today is 2009 New Year Day. As how I felt the pass few days, I dare not go out again. Hm.. I had been resting at home since boxing day.. I had not been feeling good.. but I keep telling myself.. all this are worth it. As for my hubby, hm... think he's enjoying the Tom Yum steamboat at Robin's place. So shiok.. so envy..
